Scholarships

The conference organizers recognize the importance of providing support to maximize the number of individuals from low- and middle-income countries who participate in the World Conference on Tobacco OR Health. immediately following the UICC World Cancer Congress. A limited number of scholarships may be awarded to individuals who meet specific criteria to attend both conferences and further develop relationships and synergy between cancer control and tobacco control. Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis.

The conference organizers are pleased to offer a Fellows program. The objectives of the WCTOH Fellows program are to:

Fellowships will be awarded on a competitive basis and will include:

Fellows Pre-Conference Training

The pre-conference training enables Fellows to learn from each other through focused facilitation to promote the interactive exchange of experience and information. The training fosters practical application of the content to Fellows’ home environments.

Topics for the Fellows training will be formed by the specific environmental and professional interests and needs of the Fellows selected for 2006.

Timetable
  • The online and paper application will be available in September 2005
  • Completed applications must be received by November 30, 2005 in order to be considered.
  • Applicants will be notified regarding their acceptance status no later than February 2006.
